MyKailua social pages (Facebook, Instagram, & Twitter) are run by several individuals who love Kailua just like you. When the page was originally created in 2013, it was a means to reconnect with home. At the time, I was living in California but I missed the place that I grew up in. The goal was simply to post a picture each day of home and have others share their pictures so we could all connect and enjoy what makes our town so special.

MyKailua exploded over the course of a year and the followers were pouring in from all over the world. The page eventually grew legs and became a community-driven site sharing any and everything that IS Kailua. The good stuff, the bad stuff, the funny stuff, and everything in between.

From time to time we also work as a platform to promote and share local businesses. The page has always been centered around the content that the community shares. Due to the immediacy of how information is now spread, our content has made its way to mainstream media news and local stations alike. We've been successful with community clean-ups, helping people get their lost items or pets back, solving crime through community involvement, stopping or supporting legislation that benefits or hurts the community, and supporting local businesses.

Now that the platform is built for people to speak openly and freely about everything and anything Kailua, the natural progression is to keep growing the community with honest engagement. We are humbled and honored to share Kailua and this page because none of this could be done without any of you!
